Dental treatment costs in Romania

Prices you can rely on start with an examination.

We don't publish price lists we can't verify. Instead, every figure you see is labelled with who produced it, what it was based on and how far you can rely on it.

You pay the clinic directly for treatment. We never hold treatment deposits, and we take no commission on what you pay.

Three kinds of estimate

Indicative, preliminary, final.

The figure changes as the clinic learns more about you. That is expected, and it is why we label each stage.
The three types of estimate and how to use them
EstimatePrepared byBased onUse it for
Stage 1IndicativeSupplied and dated by the clinicA standard case, with no information about you.Orientation only. Do not budget from it.
Stage 2PreliminaryReviewed by a named clinic dentistYour answers, plus any X-rays, scans or photos you choose to share.Comparing clinics and planning. Itemised, with stated assumptions.
Stage 3FinalConfirmed after examinationAn in-person examination and any imaging the clinic takes. The plan you agree, contract and pay for with the clinic directly.

Cost factors

What moves the price, by treatment.

These are the usual reasons two people pay different amounts for treatment with the same name.

Dental implants

  • Number of implants
  • Bone grafting or sinus lift, if needed
  • Implant system and abutment type
  • Type of crown or bridge fitted on top
  • Extractions and temporary teeth
Read the dental implants guide

All-on-4 and All-on-6

  • One arch or both
  • Number of implants per arch
  • Temporary bridge and final prosthesis material
  • Extractions and bone preparation
  • Sedation or anaesthesia
Read the all-on-4 and all-on-6 guide

Full-mouth restoration

  • Mix of crowns, bridges, implants and other treatment
  • Gum or root canal treatment beforehand
  • Bite analysis and planning
  • Number of laboratory stages
  • Number of visits
Read the full-mouth restoration guide

Crowns and bridges

  • Number of units
  • Material (for example zirconia, porcelain fused to metal)
  • Root canal treatment or build-ups first
  • Laboratory used
  • Temporary crowns
Read the crowns and bridges guide

Veneers

  • Number of veneers
  • Material (porcelain or composite)
  • Amount of preparation

Read the veneers guide

Inclusions

What a quote typically covers, and what it often doesn't.

Often included

  • Consultation and examination at the clinic
  • Treatment planning
  • The treatment itemised in your plan
  • Routine check during the same visit

Often excluded or charged separately

  • CT scans and X-rays
  • Extractions, grafts or sinus lifts not foreseen remotely
  • Temporary teeth between visits
  • Sedation
  • Flights, accommodation and local transport
  • Extra visits if healing takes longer

Every clinic is different. Ask for an itemised quote that states inclusions and exclusions in writing.

Currency, conversion and card fees

Clinics in Romania usually quote in euros (EUR). Where we show a sterling (GBP) figure, it is a conversion for convenience at a stated date and rate; the amount you pay is the one in the clinic's currency.

  • Exchange rates move between the date of a quote and the date you pay.
  • Your bank or card provider may add a foreign transaction fee or use its own rate.
  • Ask the clinic which payment methods it accepts and whether it charges for card payments.
  • Agree the payment schedule in writing: what is due before treatment, at each stage and at the end.

How to compare estimates fairly

  1. Check that both estimates are the same type: compare preliminary with preliminary.
  2. Line up the items: number of implants or units, materials, extractions, temporary teeth.
  3. Add the cost of every trip, including time off work and a possible extra visit.
  4. Compare guarantees, their conditions and who pays travel for corrections.
  5. Then compare the totals.

Why we don't publish price lists

A price list implies a precision that dentistry rarely has before examination. Clinics may publish dated indicative prices on their own profiles; we show them only with the date and the label “indicative”. We do not create, average or adjust prices ourselves.
